Michael Marshall, better known as Mick, of Fambridge Road, Maldon, died after his beloved Honda Fireblade was involved in a collision with a blue Vauxhall Corsa in Burnham Road shortly after midday on Thursday.

Mr Marshall, 60, who had lived in the town his entire life, was certified dead at the scene.

He leaves wife Denise, 56, sons Jason, 39, Peter, 36, and John, 27 and three grandchildren.

Mrs Marshall, who had been married to her husband since 1972, said: “He was a really lovely husband. He just enjoyed life and made me really happy.

“We are coping and we are keeping busy, but it’s been devastating.
