Maldon: Council workers call in sick five times a year
Nearly 1,000 sick days were taken by council workers in a year, according to the latest figures.
If the absent Maldon District Council workers were being paid the minimum wage of £6.08, their days off would represent £48,640 in lost labour.
On average, each worker took about five days off in the last financial year.
