A NEW site director has been appointed to guide Bradwell Power Station into the next phase of decommisioning.
Bob Kury replaces outgoing Dick Sexton, who has taken up a role with the parent company of site operator Magnox.
Mr Kury, who has more than 30 years experience in the nuclear industry and previously held site director roles at Sizewell and Hinkley Point, said: “My personal focus for 2012 is to ensure the site’s excellent safety record continues throughout the accelerated work programme.
“I am looking forward to continuing the good work led by Dick Sexton, by ensuring the sites succeeds in delivering its programme in a safe and cost effective manner.
“With the first class team we have working on the site it is a great place to be and I am passionate about leading Bradwell into the next phase in its lifecycle.”
Operation at the site, which is due to enter the care and maintenance phase in 2015, ceased in 2002.
