Renewable energy developer RES lodged an 11th-hour appeal against Maldon District Council’s decision to refuse permission for seven 125 metre-high turbines to be built on Turncole Farm, between Burnham and Southminster.

A scheme to build four turbines mear Hemsby, in Norfolk, was rejected on appeal last week in favour of local conservation policy.
