A 999 call was made after a dog became stuck in water at Maylandsea Marina yesterday.
Thames Coastguard received the call shortly before 5pm.
A crew from South Woodham Ferrers attended the scene only to find that the dog had managed to make it to the shore and had been re-united with its owner.
