A SINGER is making waves in a nationwide talent competition, and is now aiming for "world domination".

Paul Andreas, from Burnham, was voted in the top 50 singers in the countrywide Search for a Star competition, but wants to win the competition for his cousin, Jodilee Morrow, who died in September.

“This competition is something I want people to focus on as something positive in Jodilee’s memory.

When I'm singing on stage right now, I am singing for Jodilee,” said Mr Andreas.

The competition is run by charity Retail Trust and the top ten is decided by a text vote, with which Mr Andreas is asking for the public's help.

“The voting closes on November 30 and you can vote as many times as you like until then," he said.

“It is a really important charity to raise awareness of as they help over three million people in the UK with all sorts of issues, ranging from domestic violence and abuse, to helping people with their education.”

The top prize is a meeting with Mercury Records.

“For someone like me who has worked so hard all these years writing all my own material and being completely independent, this would be an absolute dream come true,” said Mr Andreas.

To vote for Paul, text STAR 43 to 70099. Texts cost £1, with 75p going to charity.
