While this is a very relevant local story, can I ask why you can comment on this uncontentious issue, yet I can't comment on the story involving Essex, BAE and their £19k "shall we have a remote control plane instead of an admin staff member to free up a real police office to get his bum on the street this year project" story?

I disagree that this is uncontentious. Firstly it's not a news story it's an advertisement for a shop masquerading as a news story. Secondly I find it profoundly depressing that we have such things as war artists, we are still in the swamp.

And good luck Tired...

I do have to agree that the last paragraph did spoil the impartiality, but surely any art is art to someone, and if we want a vibrant town centre, these guys have got to draw a crowd somehow?

And as for the swamp, Sassoon, Kipling & Griffiths spring to mind, surely they are a powerful testament to war art being a good thing??

I'd live without the war art quite happily if we lived without the war...
