A WOMAN needed medical treatment after her car caught on fire.

Firefighters were called to the Heybridge Approach at about 2pm on Wednesday May 7 after reports a car had caught fire.

They were able to extinguish the flames which they believe were caused by an electrical fault.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "The ambulance service was called just before 2.30pm and dispatched a crew to the scene.

"The female patient was checked over for any injuries, burns or smoke inhalation but did not require hospital treatment."
