Give Tolleshunt D'Arcy fete a helping hand

CAN you help a village fete go off with a bang?

Organisers of Tolleshunt D'Arcy Fete have appealed for help to find a marching band or majorette troupe which could appear at the events.

Dawn Pitt said the committee has already signed up lots of crafts stalls, displays, interactive events, barbecue, raffle, tug of war and a beer tent.

All that is missing is the musical entertainment.

She said: "We are hoping to find a local group who can attend at a low fee because all monies raised at the 2008 fete go towards the upkeep of our village hall and we need to raise as much money as possible."

The fete is due to take place on Saturday June 7 from 1pm to 5pm on the village recreation field.
