A CHARITY shop has closed its doors for two weeks so repair and decoration work can take place.

The Essex and Herts Air Ambulance shop in Burnham is temporarily closed from today for the essential maintenance.

It will see the yellow and red colours adopted by the charity last year added throughout the store.

Matt Seccombe, head of retail, said: "Our shops are a key part of raising the £500,000 a month it takes to keep our life-saving service operational.

"We are grateful to everyone who donates items or shops with us, and ask the people of Burnham to be patient while these essential works are carried out.

"Once complete, they should ensure we can offer a more appealing shopping experience, meaning we can make the best use of donated goods, raising as much as possible from them.

"Whilst our shops are closed, we’d be grateful if anyone planning to donate items could keep them safely until we are open again.

"Please don’t leave them at these shop as we will be unable to take them while the work is going on."
