THIS week the Standard brings you two stories about community groups in the district.
The first sees the committee behind Burnham’s popular and loved Quay Day appealing to the public to donate to their cause to allow them to create a bigger and better event for the town.
The second sees the now 20-year-old Maldon Riverside Association taking new approaches to help recruit more volunteers to their cause.
These two initiatives are a showcase of some of the best community actions in our district, be it organising a massive event for all to enjoy, or to help clean up and maintain the beloved and tranquil riversides of Maldon that so many residents admire.
It is essential that the public gets behind these groups in order for them to do the best they can for us.
There is the notion that if you give love into this world, then the world will love you back.
If residents can donate their time or some spare cash to help out these groups, we will be living in an even better district.
