LITTER pickers took to Burnham at the weekend to clean up the town's green spaces.
Representatives from Burnham Town Council, plus the RNLI and residents joined with Duke of Edinburgh volunteers to clean up green areas around the train station, and bridge over the railway on Saturday.
Dozens of people turned up to help with the team managing to fill more than ten bags of rubbish, litter and hedge and tree trimmings from the area.
The Duke of Edinburgh volunteers also managed to cut down a dead tree and saw logs to use as a new wildlife habitat.
Burnham mayor Wendy Stamp took part in the pick.
She said: "We did 54 man hours on Saturday and it was a fantastic day's work. That was one day, and have no way finished it to a great standard yet, which demonstrates how much work is required to keep on top of it all."
