A YACHT club will be holding an open day in Maldon over the bank holiday.
Maldon Yacht Club will hold their annual open day on Monday at their club near the River Blackwater.
The club was formed in 1949 as one of the smallest clubs on the river, and encourages both dinghy sailing and kayaking, with members ranging from nine to 90 years old.
The open day will run from 11am to 4pm with taster sailing if the weather is good.
Refreshments will be served at the fully licenced clubhouse including Ploughman’s lunches, teas and coffees.
There will also be a tombola and a raffle.
The day is part of the Royal Yachting Association’s May incentive called “Push the Boat Out” to encourage people to try sailing. Those interested in taster sessions should contact the club in advance.
Maldon Yacht Club is situated at the end of Promenade Park, along from the boating lake.
Entry to the open day is free. Visit www.maldonyc.org.uk.
