A BOMB has been discovered in Burnham.
Essex Police received reports from Remembrance Avenue this afternoon that an un-exploded First World War bomb had been found on land near the area.
A police spokesman said: "We received a report of an unexploded bomb on land off Remembrance Avenue, Burnham, at around 1pm today, Monday, May 21.
"We called the Ministry of Defence Explosive Ordnance Disposal team who attended and the device was safely removed."

Residents spotted the bomb disposal team at work during the afternoon.
It is understood that the bomb was live but did not contain a fuse, so there was no risk of it exploding.
