PLANS to build a bus shelter in Heybridge have been submitted.

Essex County Council has applied to place a new building in Hall Road.

The proposals consist of a bus shelter and store building and associated parking provision including 2 car spaces, 2 disabled bays, a cycle parking bay for 2 bicycles and a bay for 2 motorcycles.

The planning application said: “The bus shelter would be used for storage of Essex County Council’s Road Safety Team’s bus which is used as a mobile classroom on average about twice per week including occasional weekends.

“In addition, the building would house equipment for the Road Safety Team in the form of racked storage.

“The proposals would not have any adverse effects on adjoining uses, including residential properties, by reason of their use being for storage purposes with no noisy depot activities envisaged.”

The deadline for the consultation on the proposals ends on Monday, May 14.
