A PROJECT has marked its tenth anniversary with a special event.
The Harbour Project sees volunteers support people across Maldon by offering a place to talk.
Coffee mornings are held at the Octagon, at St Mary’s Church, Maldon, every Monday at 10am.
It was set up by Maldon and District Community Voluntary Service in 2008.
The project marked its tenth birthday on Saturday.
Sarah Laskar, director of Maldon and District CVS, said: “Put simply the volunteers are the reason that Harbour has been so successful for the past ten years.”
Ms Laskar thanked Father Louis Darrant who was the minister at St Mary's at the start of the project and St Mary's Church for their ongoing support.
Maldon mayor Jeanette Stilts praised the volunteers and the Harbour users for creating the project she described as “an asset to the town”.
