THE public had the opportunity to take a look around one of the youngest ships in the international fleet of tall ships.
The ship, named Mercedes, was positioned at the end of Southend Pier for two days last week.
The inauguration of sailing ship Mercedes was in May 2005 and she is one of the youngest ships in the international fleet of tall ships.
The vessel is especially designed for day cruises, evening cruises and receptions moored in a port.
The ship is hugely impressive, with a 900 metre total sail area, highest safety standards according to European Directive 98/18 for passenger transport in Europe, excellent seaworthiness, strong propulsion and a lot of comfort on board.
As well as professional crew at your service are good arguments for an event.
