CASTLE View School pupils have donated more than 100 Easter eggs to Basildon Hospital.

The Year 10 schoolboys and schoolgirls gathered the donations in the space of just three days.

Pupils of Castle View School, which is based on Foksville Road, Canvey, handed over their pile of donations after deciding they wanted to do something to cheer up the patients at Basildon Hospital.

And Suzanne Reynolds, a paediatric matron at Basildon Hospital, said the Easter eggs would be gratefully accepted by the patients, who will be treated there over the Easter period.

Suzanne said: “We’re very thankful to all the pupils who donated.

“It’s very thoughtful and will help to brighten up the children’s day.”
