MALDON’S orchestra will be playing a concert in the town on Friday.

The Maldon Orchestra has been going in the town for more than 60 years, with their aim being to allow district and county based amateur musicians aged 18 or over of all standards the experience of making music in an orchestral setting within a friendly, relaxed environment.

Whether you have recently picked up an instrument for the first time or haven’t since you were at school, the Maldon Orchestra provide an opportunity to make music with likeminded people.

The orchestra will be giving a concert from 8pm on Friday at the Maldon Town Hall on Market Hill.

The concert is due to be Maritime music, with well-known favourites included.

The money raised from the event will be shared between two Maldon-based charities, The Brent Trust and Maldon RNLI.

Tickets can also be purchased at the door, though it is advised to book in advance to avoid any disappointment.

There will be refreshments and a raffle on the day.

Tickets for the concert are £7 each and can be bought from Brent Trust on 01621 855058, Maldon RNLI on 01621 853015 or Maldon Tourist Information on 01621 856503.
