A BID to turn a patch of farmland into a residential area has been refused.
The bid was put to Maldon District Council to change the use of agricultural land near West Bowers Road in Woodham Walter into a residential plot.
The council has refused the plans stating that the application site lies outside of the settlement boundary and that it would be harmful to the rural area of Woodham Walter.
The council also stated that reduced highway visibility from the buildings would make the road more dangerous.
