A HUGE stack of straw caught fire near a village on Tuesday night.
Firefighters were called to a field near Langford Road, Wickham Bishops on Tuesday night with reports of a 100 tonne pile of baled straw on fire.

An Essex Fire Service spokesman said: “Firefighters were called to a large stack of baled straw on fire near Langford Road in Wickham Bishops shortly after 8.30pm on Tuesday.
The stack contained approximately 100 tonnes of straw.
“Fire crews made sure the area around the straw was protected by dampening it down with water. The stack was left to burn out under control."
