COASTGUARD teams from South Woodham Ferrers rescued a rower from the water near Bradwell.
The man was struggling whilst rowing ashore near Bradwell shortly before 1am on Saturday.
A spokesman for South Woodham Coastguard Rescue Team said: “Whilst en-route, we were informed that the casualty was now in the water and clinging on to a moored vessel.
“The casualty was safely recovered by the Lifeboat crew and taken ashore where he was handed over to Coastguard officers.
“The man was fit and well, albeit cold and wet, and was assisted to the marine where a lifeboat crew from West Mersea had located the vessel.”
