TRIBUTES have been paid to a former Burnham schoolboy who was found dead after going missing.

Police launched a search for Callum Brown, 21, after he went missing after a night out in Colchester.

His body was found in the River Colne in Castle Park five days later.

Police, who had appealed for information, called off the search for Callum and informed his next of kin.

Callum, who lived in Wivenhoe with his mum and his stepdad, had been a pupil at Ormiston Rivers Academy.

He went missing after a night out and was last seen leaving Qube nightclub in Crouch Street, Colchester, in the early hours of Saturday, July 1.

He had been due to meet friends from Southminster to go to a concert on the Saturday but never turned up.

Joan Costello, principal at Ormiston Rivers, said: “He was an extremely polite, diligent and conscientious young man who worked very hard.

“He was passionate about music and his close friends were very important to him.

“Our community is very, very saddened by the news of his passing. We express our condolences to his family.”

Essex Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
