CHILDREN of Woodham Walter Primary took part in a sponsored walk to raise money for Teigan Bayliss.
Teigan has quadriplegic cerebral palsy. At two weeks old, she was in hospital for three weeks, on and off oxygen machines, regular medication, scans and tests, being diagnosed with quadriplegic cerebral palsy at nine months old.
Now living at home, she needs specialist equipment and support to help her live a normal life. The school’s walk was done to raise more funds for her cause.
The walk, which revolved around laps of the school playground, was organised by the school Worship Committee, being led by Lucia and Adam.
Adam said: “It has been a fantastic experience to plan for such a lovely cause.” Lucia said: “Teigan is a part of my family and I would like to say a big thank you to everyone.”
Head teacher Mrs Dodd said: “I am so incredibly proud of all the children. The worship committee worked so hard organising the event showing maturity and self-reliance. Each and every child walked jogged or ran the course for half an hour, it was amazing to see the encouragement they gave to each other”.
Following all fundraising, the school are aiming for £1217.00 raised to help Teigan.
