POLICE are appealing for information after a Maldon man was attacked with knuckledusters and robbed.
The incident happened on Tuesday, at around 9.20am in Rainsford Road, Chelmsford.
A 40-year-old man from Maldon was walking along the road when he was attacked by two men who punched him in the head with knuckledusters.
They then took his mobile and money. The man managed to flee to a nearby shop and call the police. He suffered minor injuries.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "The suspects are described as being black men, aged in their mid-20s and were wearing dark Nike tracksuits.
"They drove off in a black vehicle, believed to be a Volkswagen Golf.
"Anyone with information is asked to call Chelmsford CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111."
