Here are five things to do in the Maldon district this week.

Artists’ exhibition

PEOPLE can enjoy an exhibition of various artists’ works this month.

The artists of Hayes Country Park at The Maeldune Heritage Centre in Maldon will be holding an exhibition of their works, beginning today.

The exhibition will be open from 11am to 4pm every day until May 9 with the exception of Sundays and Mondays.

Most of the work will also be for sale.

Prom Park 5k run

A GROUP run will take place in Maldon this evening.

The Maldon 5k Series will take place tonight in Promenade Park.

The annual event takes place every year in April, May, June and July and is open to anyone capable.

It begins in the park at 7pm.

Police choir show

A POLICE choir will perform a gig in Burnham on Saturday.

The Essex Police Choir will be performing at the United Reformed Church on Station Road, Burnham on Saturday.

The evening of music will include refreshments, and begins at 7.30pm.

Charity race night

A CHARITY race night will be held in Little Totham on Saturday.

The Swan on School Road will be holding a charity horse racing night in support of the Bowel Cancer Charity.

People can come along to pick a horse to win prizes and raise funds for charity at the same time.

The night will begin from 8pm and is free to all.

Music night fun

A MUSIC night will be held in Burnham this weekend.

Dengie based band Stuck in the Middle will be playing a concert at The Tall Green House on Burnham High Street on Saturday evening from 7pm The band will perform a variety of their own songs and several covers.

There will also be a raffle on the night with proceeds going towards the Burnham and District Museum.
