A MAN in his fifties was taken to hospital after falling off the sea wall near Bradwell Power Station.

Ambulance crews and members of the coastguard were called to Bradwell last Wednesday at around 3pm after a man fell from the sea wall between the power station and St Peters Chapel.

Members of the coastguard cared for the man before ambulance crews arrived to treat his leg injuries.

A spokesman for South Woodham Coastguard said: “We were tasked Wednesday to assist the East of England Ambulance Service to reports of a casualty fallen down the sea wall.

“The casualty was located by rescue officers and access instructions were relayed to the ambulance.

“He was kept as warm as possible until the ambulance arrived. We then assisted with extrication and the casualty was left in the care of ambulance staff.”

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman added: “We dispatched an ambulance crew and a hazardous area response team to the scene.

“They treated one man for leg injuries. He was taken to Broomfield Hospital for further treatment.”
