A MAYLAND mum will be adding two Italian marathons to her powerwalking tally.

Lucy Cummins, who has taken on 34 marathons in the last 12 years, is hoping to pound the pavements in Rome and Venice this year.

She has already completed a 10km race and the Bath half marathon in the first three months of 2017 and will also take on a number of races across the summer.

These include ultra marathons, the London to Brighton race and back to back marathons in Edinburgh and Race to the Stones.

Lucy, who won a Pride of Essex award in 2015 for her fundraising, will be helping to raise cash for the breast cancer charity Walk the Walk.

She will also do a charity walk for St.Elizabeth hospice in Ipswich which cared for her sister in the last weeks of her life last August.

Lucy, who has been made an Essex ambassador for the This Girl Can campaign, said: “Powerwalking and training is a big part of my life and being able to participate in events by powerwalking marathons is a fantastic way to see the both Britain and the world.”
