A NEW exhibition of artworks made using scavenged wood and graffiti techniques is on display in Maldon.

Work by Maldon artist Natalie Huntsman is on show at the Maeldune Heritage Centre this month.

She creates unusual works from unlikely materials she has been scrapped, scrounged and scavenged.

Her work also uses techniques of graffiti in a new way.

She said: “I have always had a bit of a fascination with stuff that no one else wants and then wanting to save it.

“Finding wood and objects to work on is the most interesting part because you never know what you are going to find.

“What I take home needs to have character, which can really give depth to my pictures.

“What better way to rescue a dank piece of rotting wood and turn it into something you would want to look at and enjoy.”

Natalie’s exhibition is open Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 4pm until March 28 at the Maeldune Heritage Centre.
