A MALDON-brewed ale has bagged a medal at the East Anglian Beer of the Year Competition.
Fresh celebrations were in place as The Mighty Oak Brewing Company’s nationally famous mild ale Oscar Wilde, has won the Bronze medal in the mild category of the competition run by Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
Oscar Wilde has previously won a host of other awards including two Gold awards in CAMRA’s national mild category and the country’s very top beer award, Supreme Champion Beer of Britain.
John Boyce, Managing Director of Mighty Oak Brewing Company, said: “We are thrilled and honored to receive this eighth major award for Oscar Wilde, our most famous beer. I’d like to thank all our loyal Oscar customers and CAMRA for this recognition.
“If you’ve never tried a pint of Oscar, you should pop into our Tap Room and have a taster – it’s something really special!”
Oscar Wilde features in the brewery’s national award line-up alongside Maldon Gold, a 3.8% golden which won CAMRA Champion Golden Beer of Britain in 2007 and Captain Bob a 3.8% deep amber bitter which won CAMRA Silver Award Bitter of the Year in 2014.
Mighty Oak’s full range of beers are available for the public to buy at the brewery in West Station Yard, Maldon, and can be found in pubs throughout Essex.
