A COMMUNITY rowing club is holding a members drive to try and get more people involved with the club.

Burnham-on-Crouch Coastal Rowing Club is hosting an event on to try and attract more members.

The drive follows a hugely successful winter series race in January, and the gain of funding provided by Sports England and the Burnham Carnival Committee.

As part of a 12 month programme aimed at encouraging more local people to row, the club are holding a member drive at the Royal Burnham Yacht Club, on The Quay, on Sunday, March 12, between 11am and 1pm.

No experience is required to attend, just enthusiasm to give rowing a go. A short safety briefing will be followed by a demonstration before heading on to the water for a 15 minute taster session.

Life jackets will be provided on the day, and anyone interested should attend in comfortable clothing.

On the day club members will be on hand to offer an idea of the club’s activities and help with training on the club’s boats.
