A COUNCIL employee who has picked up an award in recognition of his work.
Nigel Harmer, who is a river bailiff for Maldon District Council, was presented with the chairman’s award for 2016 at a full council meeting last week.
Mr Harmer has worked for the council for more than 20 years and his success include working on the Hythe Quay repairs.
Chairman Peter Elliott said Mr Harmer had received two formal nominations as well as several informal nominations.
He said: “I was very impressed by the feedback I received about this individual and it is testament to the good work that he has done.”
Mr Harmer said he was “very proud” to receive the award.
He added: “I would like to thank the chairman and everybody who voted for me.”
