PROMENADE Park’s adventure golf course will be closed temporarily at the start of 2017 as repairs are improvements are carried out.

From January 9 until February 11 Pirates Bay Adventure Golf will be closed while work is completed.

Martin Devine, director of South West Adventure Golf, said: “We have had hundreds of budding golfers through our doors already and we are looking forwards to your first full season. But we want to make some minor improvements to the holes and resolve some snagging issues from when we opened.

“We plan to completely re-carpet the facility with a slower playing surface to prevent log-jams on certain holes. This will improve the playing experience for players of all abilities, but particularly children who found some of the holes too challenging.”

Councillor Ron Pratt, Chairman of Community Services at Maldon District Council, said: “Pirates Bay Adventure Golf has made a great addition to the park and is fantastic family fun. We apologise if any visitors miss out during this period but I think all guests will like the improvements.”
