MALDON’S Promenade Park will embrace a sack-load of running Santas to tackle a 5km route for charity.

The David Randall Foundation has been holding the annual fun run in the park for years, with hundreds of Santas donning their best red and white suits to run the distance to raise funds for their cause.

The fun run will take place next Sunday December 18, with registration starting from 9am with the runners and walkers setting off from 10.30am.

The David Randall foundation was set up in 2012, shortly after the death of David Randall from Maldon, with the aim of giving those with life-limiting illnesses the opportunity to lead a full and prosperous life, as well as dedicating resources and support to aspiring musicians and sportsmen and women who are restrained in their ambitions due to lack of resources.

Competitors are invited to bring along their own Father Christmas suits, but they will also be provided to them by the organisers on the day.

Entry to the fun run is £13.50 for adults and £10 for children under 17 years old.

The fun run will begin in Promenade Park on the Sunday from 10.30am. All spectators are welcome to cheer on friends and family.
