WREATHS will be laid at the War Memorial in Maldon High Street as an act of remembrance.

The Wreath Laying Ceremony will take place on Sunday, November 13, at 10.30am.

Veterans, members of the cadet services, emergency services, local voluntary organisations and pupils from local schools will be led by The Royal British Parade Marshall at 10.15am shortly before the wreaths are placed.

Around 30 wreaths will be laid this year by Town Mayor Richard Miller, Councillor Peter Elliot, and representatives from the Armed Forces including members of Maldon Cadets/

After the ceremony a service of remembrance will be held at All Saints’ Church on Maldon High Street.

Due to the events, a temporary road closure will be enforced in the High Street which will be closed to all traffic between Market Hill and West Square from 10am to 11.30am.

Traffic will instead be diverted around town, via Mill Road, Cross Road and Fambridge Road. Maldon Town Council apologised for any inconvenience but said the closure was necessary in order for the ceremonies to go ahead.
