THE annual general meeting of Burnham Chamber of Commerce takes place on Monday.

It will be held at the town council offices in Chapel Road with doors opening at 7.30pm for an 8pm start.

Both members and non-members are invited to attend.

Acting chairman Robin Bassil said: “We are trying to reach out to all local businesses and organisations to join us, so that we can represent their interests and views and also to assist them in the coming year.

“For the first time in Burnham we are asking locally retired business and professional people to join us.

“Also, as well as property based businesses we are looking to recruit those who work from home.

“At the meeting we will be electing a new committee, changing the constitution, and discussing common points of interest.”

Following the meeting the chamber will draw up policy on local issues such as policing, parking, roads infrastructure, internet speeds, and local development plans.

After the meeting there will be time set aside for informal networking with a complementary glass of wine, fruit juice and nibbles.

Temporary membership costs £2.
