CITIZENS of Maldon will be in for a spooky ride with a tour of its most haunted regions and spooky laboratory experiments over the Halloween weekend.

Maldon Ghost Walks will be running their last tour of the town for 2016, whilst a more family friendly spooky science event will be held at the Museum of Power in Langford.

Maldon Ghost Walks was started in 2012 by Mike and Drew Steel, two brothers who have lived around Maldon for most of their lives.

Drew had a deep interest in acting, while Mike was a keen historian, and so the two began the walk after finding out about Maldon’s interesting past.

Now back for their fourth year, the walks have brought a haunting atmosphere and ghostly tales to people every week since the summer holidays, and people are invited for one last terrifying walk of spooks and ghouls led by the charisma and knowledge of the duo.

The walk is approximately an hour and a half long and includes areas that may be poorly lit with uneven surfaces.

It is suitable for all ages, and is conducted with entertainment and fun at every corner, those of a nervous disposition may wish to restore their spirits at one of the many fine pubs after the walk.

The walk begins at the War Memorial at All Saints Church on Maldon High Street at 7pm on Saturday October 29. Adults cost £5, under 16s cost £3 and under-fives are free. Visit maldon-ghosts.atwebpages.com.

A more child-friendly Halloween event will be held at the Museum of Power with their Spooky Science and Magic Day on Sunday October 30.

The museum will host hands-on mad science and wacky magic activities as well as the miniature steam train being open for rides throughout the day in addition to their famous model village.

The "Marshall" the Lilleshall pumping engine will be run by compressed air and other oil and diesel engines will be running

There will also be refreshments served during the demonstrations and the rest of the day in the tea rooms.

The science day takes place from 10am to 4pm, costing £6 for adults, seniors £5, children 15-5 £2.50 and under-fives free.
