MORE than 500 people turned out to support a dog rescue centre’s charity fun day.

Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue, based on Wash Lane, Little Totham, held a charity dog show and family fun day on September 18.

The charity works to help re-home and improve the lives of greyhounds who have retired from racing as young as three-years-old.

The day included a dog show with many different breeds participating, plus stalls, hot food and bouncy castles among other entertainments.

More than 500 people turned out for the day, and the running total raised for the charity standing at £2,600.

The charity’s board of trustees have thanked volunteers and helpers throughout the day and for the people who came out to support them.

Johannah Patmore, one of the trustees, said: “We'd like to say a massive thank you to all of our volunteers, we really couldn’t have managed without you, plus Liam Subbings and Kelly Rouse who toiled to get the day together and make things run smoothly, and Teresa Erskin and her team who organised the dogs show and judges and to everyone who donated items to sell, prizes and cakes and all of the stallholders that turned out.

“It also goes without saying that we couldn’t have achieved this without everyone who came along and supported us.”
