A BLACK tie event at Maldon Football Club has raised over £1,000 for charity.

The event, organised by Deb’s Hair Design of Maldon High Street, saw many guests scrub up and attend from across the district last weekend at the club on Park Drive.

Guests such as Maldon Mayor Richard Miller and representatives from Tesco and Blackwater Gym were treated to live singing, dancers from BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, a hog roast and a raffle.

All proceeds from the event went to the Action for Family Carers Charity, who are dedicated to helping the lives of unpaid carers across the county.

A total of £1073.48 was raised on the night, and event organiser and owner of Deb’s Hair Designs Debbie Stubbs was extremely pleased with how the night went.

She said: “It was a fantastic evening and we raised an amazing amount of money.

“Big thanks Maldon Football Club for hosting, the Maldon Mayor and his wife, Michael Booth our DJ and the hog roast man.

“Additional thanks to the whole team at Action for Family Carers and Tesco Maldon and our friends and clients who donated to us.

“My team at Deb’s Hair Designs continue to be wonderful, I couldn’t do it without them.”
