MALDON Tumble Tots held a special pirate themed event on Friday to raise money for charity.
The team were raising money for Leukaemia charity, Bloodwise.
They ran a number of classes on Friday at Maldon Town Football Club from 9.30am to 12.15am.
As well as the pirate themed dress, the children took part in football based events, inspired by Euro 2016.
Rosemary Herring, of Maldon Tumble Tots, said: “It went really well. It was a really good day that I think everybody enjoyed.
“We had a lot of little pirates come along, especially those in the older classes. The costumes were great.”
The group had a great turnout and because of that, along with the amount of sponsorship donations they still have coming in, will be running similar events in the coming weeks.
“All in all about 50 children took part. It was from Tumble Tots across the area, in Maldon, Chelmsford, Brentwood and Ingatestone.
“We were raising money for Bloodwise, the Leukaemia research charity. So far we have raised nearly £1000 and we are still collecting.
“We are doing it all again this week because of the sponsorship we still have coming in.”
