ROCKET builders from Ormiston Academy will compete in the tenth UK Rocketry Challenge National Finals on May 25.
The event, which will be held at Stow Maries Aerodrome in Purleigh, will see 14 teams from 10 schools across the UK compete in a rocket building competition.
The team from Ormiston Academy, Burnham-on-Crouch, previously won their regional finals and will now compete for the national prize on Wednesday.
The challenge is aimed at students aged between 11 and 18.
Competing teams will have to build and launch their own rockets with the aim of carrying two raw eggs and returning them safely to the ground.
The rockets will have to reach a set altitude and fly for more than a certain amount of time in order to count.
The winning team from the event will go on to represent the UK against teams from USA, Japan and France at the International Finals in Farnborough in July.
