ROADS across the Maldon district will be closed to allow for surface dressing works to take place.
In total 33 roads will be subject to closures, with works set to take place over an 18 month period.
Works, which include patching before surface dressing, were due to start last Friday.
Roads affected include Hackmans Lane in Cold Norton, the B1010 Fambridge Road in Althorne and Blind Lane in Goldhanger.
Diversions will be place for all the road closures.
Works will involve road defects being filled in and cat's eyes removed. This will be followed by the roads being sprayed with bitumen and covered in granite chippings.
The road will then be swept after 48 hours and again after seven days.
