THE family of a "lovely and gentle" woman killed near her Maldon home have paid tribute to her.

Amina Begum, 47, was found with multiple wounds in the road outside her home in Fambridge Close shortly before 2pm on Thursday, March 24.

In a tribute, issued by Essex Police today, her children said: "Our whole family are devastated by the loss of our dear mum.

"Amina was a lovely and gentle person who was dearly loved by us all.

"She cared for and adored her children and her wider family.

"She will be greatly missed.

"We respectfully ask that our family are left in peace to grieve at this very distressing time.”

Son Javid Ahmed, 25, also of Fambridge Close, has been charged with his mother's murder. He is in custody ahead of an appearance at Chelmsford Crown Court next month.
