A VETERINARY surgery is Purleigh is looking to the future after investing in a new state of the art building.

Edgewood Vets in Chelmsford Road, has completed work on a purpose built new building.

The practice, which specialises in domestic animals and exotic pets, has been operating out of a wooden building for the past 50 years.

Owner Jürgen Theinert and his co-director and wife Jacqueline, who have been running the surgery since 2000, decided it was time to modernise the operation.

In total it took six years to take the project from start to finish and was made possible with a £720,000 loan from Natwest.

Mr Theinert said: “We have been in the area for a long time so it felt right to invest in beautiful new premises that really showcase our services.

“We have a dedicated team of staff who offer the care and compassion that you’d expect for your pet and we hope to continue improving our services into the future.

“We now have a building that will enable us to offer the best possible service to our clients and the pets under our care.”

The Edgewood Veterinary Group Ltd has four practices in Purleigh, Maldon, Burnham and Great Totham.

The new Purleigh Practice is open from 8am to 7pm Mondays to Fridays, 8am to 4pm on Saturdays and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
