Heybridge man cleared of rape
A man has been cleared of raping a woman under a bridge in Maldon.
David Heard, 28, of Elizabeth Way, Heybridge, stood trial this week at Chelmsford Crown Court.
The jury returned a unanimous not guilty verdict today.
The alleged incident was said to have taken place at a bridge near Tesco Fullbridge in Maldon on June 10, 2014.
Mr Heard was found not guilty of one count of rape and a charge of attempted rape.
