A primary school turned into Dragons' Den as pupils spent the week learning about enterprise and creating businesses including selling bookmarks, taking selfies and making volcanoes with popping candy.
Purleigh Community Primary School, on Pump Lane, Purleigh, held Enterprise Week two weeks ago.
School pupils had to pitch for a £20 investment from the ‘Dragons’, who were school headteacher Neil Stotter and chairman of governors Yvonne Norburne.
Teacher Jenny Owen said: “It was a fantastic week and the children learned a huge amount through a very exciting and interesting activity.
“Year 6 also had a morning playing a brilliant game called ‘Junior Fund Manager’ where they learned about investments and risk when navigating the changing financial markets.
“It was a brilliant week with lots of learning and our children as usual were enthusiastic, confident and excited in their lessons.”
All classes were successful in securing funding for their projects, which included making superhero bookmarks, iced biscuits, honeycomb and chocolate, as well as popping candy volcanoes, a photo booth business and creating and selling pebble pets, complete with adoption certificates.
All pupils made jingles and posters and promoted their products in assembly and held a sales day, with all classes making a profit.
