RESIDENTS have called for a Sunday service to be extended to include Burnham.
The 31 service from Chelmsford to Maylandsea could be revised under Essex County Council plans to include a service to Southminster railway station and Broomfield Hospital.
Essex County Council received 21 comments in relation to the proposal.
A report which was set to go before the council’s cabinet said the main issue raised was that the service should be extended to include Burnham.
It said: “This would lengthen the route and require either a reduction in frequency or the use of additional vehicles, both of which would significantly increase the cost per passenger journey.
“While the comments are noted, it is felt that the service change offered (ie an extension from Maylandsea to Southminster) will be of benefit and the proposed service is better than the current proposal.”
No additional change is proposed.
