Psyche-surfers the Wytches will be all about the newwhen they come to Chinnery’s in Southend.
“We won’t play loads of the old stuff – I’m sick of the old stuff” said drummer Gianni Honey during a chat about the band’s forthcoming new album, expected to be out early next year.
“It hasn’t got a title yet” he said, revealing some muck about names the band has been chucking around. “Dan came up with...oh what was it...it was stupid... oh yeah, Sick Jam” he added.
Hopefully they won’t opt for that.
“We’ll definitely be playing the new stuff on tour” said Gianni, “some B sides.
“The new album I’d say will appeal to a wider audience. It’s been a very different process to the last one, it sounds a lot cleaner.”
The Wytches are also singersongwriter Kristian Bell and bassist Daniel Rumsey.
Their debut album, Annabel DreamReader, was released on Heavenly Recordings last year.
They have set off on their tour this week, which culminates in Brighton on December 5 at The Haunt.
The tour will take The Wytches to some venues they haven’t yet played.
“I don’t think we’ve played Southend before... I don’t think I have ever been to Southend before” said Gianni.
The Wytches arrive on November 17 at the Southend seafront venue in Marine Parade.
Tickets are £11.50 and are available from seetickets.com
