Maldon and District Sea Cadets teamed up with London and Middlesex Air Cadets on an expedition to Ypres and The Somme.
They enjoyed a trip to the largest World War One cemetery, Tyne Cot, which sadly holds over 18,000 allied graves, experienced trench life, conducted a patrol and more.
Sergeant Mike Abbott, who joined the group on the visit (from August 5-9). said: “It was a truly emotional place.
“We had a fantastic experience which we would love to do again sometime as a unit one for the future.”
