Plume school pupils were donated a Ford engine following a visit to the company’s auto plant.
A tour of the facility, educational talks and a design-a-car competition were just some of the activities the 30 Year-8 pupils enjoyed during their Dagenham day out, last month.
Not only did the day culminate in students receiving prizes, certificates and a “goody bag”, but the engineering department received a 1.6 TDCi diesel engine from the company on Friday 26.
Teacher Tony Giddings, said: “Our students will disassemble and reassemble the engine in order to understand how it functions."
